  1. Collection and storage of personal data, and type and purpose of their use
  2. a) When visiting the website
    When you access our website, information is automatically sent by your browser to our server and stored in log files (e.g., IP address, date/time of access, file name, browser type, operating system, referrer URL).
    Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the purposes of ensuring the website’s functionality and security.
  3. b) When contacting us
    If you contact us by email or via a form, we will process the information you provide (name, email address, message) in order to respond to your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
  4. c) When submitting a contribution via the upload tool
    If you upload content (text, images, audio, video) via our submission/upload tool, we process:
  • Your contact details (name, email address, phone number if provided)
  • The content you upload
  • Any personal data of third parties contained in the content (only if you have the necessary consent)
  • Any special categories of personal data (Art. 9 GDPR), e.g., ethnic origin, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, if you voluntarily include them

Purpose of processing:

  • Organisation, implementation, and public presentation of the digital exhibition “Who We Are” at https://who-we-are.org
  • Partial analogue reproduction (e.g., exhibition panels, posters, QR codes, printed materials)
  • Project documentation

Legal bases:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent)
  • Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR (consent to process special categories of data)
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (participation agreement)

Consent is given actively via a confirmation checkbox in the upload tool. The text, timestamp, and IP address are stored to prove consent in accordance with Art. 7 GDPR.

  1. Disclosure of data
    Your personal data will only be shared with authorised MKN staff.
    Contributions selected for publication will be publicly accessible online and may also be displayed in analogue formats. We cannot prevent third parties from reusing the published content.
  2. Storage period
    Personal data will be stored for the duration of the project and for a maximum of five years after the end of the project, unless you withdraw your consent earlier.
  3. Cookies and analytics tools
    If we use cookies or analytics tools, this will only take place with your explicit consent via a cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Details can be found in the cookie settings.
  4. Your rights
    You have the right to request access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), to object (Art. 21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
