Kun's path to the Sorbian minority was anything but direct: having grown up in the Netherlands, he first discovered his passion for bilingual regions while studying Slavic studies and traveling to Russia and Spain. This fascination led him back to Germany, where he learned to speak fluent Upper and Lower Sorbian. Today he lives in Cottbus and works as a teacher and journalist for the Lower Sorbian radio station. His story impressively proves that you don't have to be born into a minority to become an essential part of it and actively work for its revitalization.
